With a B.Sc Degree in Computer Science enabling him to have a good, well-paid and very varied 23+ year career in software engineering Patrick had a crazy idea!
| To jack it all in and follow his passion for
"People Photography". The monumental decision to do this was when he was looking at the crossroads of his life at that time in 2003 and decided that he didn't want to be staring at a screen-full of code or writing client training material for the *next* 10 years. So now, 8+ years later, Patrick is a photographer who creates priceless Wedding, Portrait and Event photography in North Yorkshire, Cleveland and Co. Durham. When he's not shooting images, he's staring at a screen retouching them. Maybe not such a brilliant idea after all. But he loves it. |

Patrick concentrates on
qwerky, edgy but relaxed wedding
photography with a fashion bias in North Yorkshire from Middlesbrough to
Harrogate, York to Durham. He has his own style; the very reason his many
diverse clients choose him over those other photographers who adopt a more
traditional approach. Naturally though Patrick always carries a
client-specified list of the "must have" shots which tend to be
family-oriented but might also be totally whacky if that's what the couple
wants.
Patrick also creates portraiture from babes to grandparents from pets to special occasions where the emphasis is on the word creates. Being a photographer Patrick doesn't just press the button on the camera - anyone can do that! It's more about creating a scenario; an ambience; then and only then, being quick enough to grab the fleeting moment - whether it's tears of joy or solemnity. It's about being "in-tune" with the people he photographs. Having recently provided photography evening class at RC Carmel College in Darlington for over 33 adult "students" it has become even more ingrained in Patrick's mind that the "killer" image, that every brilliant photographer stives for, is made with only the best lighting available. Although it's obvious, you can't get great images with uninspiring light - it just won't be flattering that's why Patrick is a pretty sound choice when it comes to choosing your photographer.
